Credible public sector accounting plays a vital role in establishing sound public financial management (PFM) system and accountability which essentially influence the efficient and effective delivery of public services (CIPFA Publications 2021). The fundamental importance of a sound PFM system cannot be over emphasised in the present-day context when the citizens are ever vigilant about the integrity of the state of public affairs and delivery of services using public resources.
